Migrating from POHODA
Switch calmly, with the data you know.
POHODA can export data to XML. DameDoklad reads it and you check the result before you switch.
Process
Four steps
- 1
Step 1
Export from POHODA
In POHODA, export the address book, invoices, stock and accounting journal to XML. The manufacturer describes the format in its data communication documentation.
- 2
Step 2
Dry run in DameDoklad
In Settings under Import and export, upload the file. You get a report of what would be created, updated or skipped. Nothing changes until you run the import, and then it is all or nothing.
- 3
Step 3
Check
Compare the address book, stock and open documents with POHODA, and opening balances with the trial balance.
- 4
Step 4
Switch
It is easiest to switch at the start of an accounting period or quarter. Until then you can run both programs side by side.
What moves across
- Customers and suppliers
- Invoices, credit notes, advance invoices and debit notes, as history
- Cash, bank, orders and quotes
- Stock cards with quantities and prices, price lists
- Chart of accounts, posting templates, centres and job orders
- The accounting journal
- Opening balances from the journal or an XLSX or CSV file (double-entry only)
- Transfers, production, till receipts, internal documents and enquiries are reported only
We verified the import against sample files and schemas from STORMWARE, not against a real company database, so try a test import with your own data before you switch. POHODA does not export assets or employees to XML: upload them from a spreadsheet using our template. Number series do not move across. Keep closed accounting years archived in the original program for the legally required period.
Good to know
What to think about when you switch
Pick a good date
The start of a year or quarter means fewer open items.
Involve your accountant
Invite them to DameDoklad and let them check the opening balances.
Archive old years
You must keep accounting records for the legally required period, even when you no longer use the program.
Check the outputs
Make sure invoices, reports and exports look the way you need.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my history?
Closed years stay in POHODA, which you archive. You mostly move master data and opening balances into DameDoklad.
Can I do a dry run?
Yes, every import starts with one: you see the report before anything changes. For a full rehearsal, create a test company and run the import there.
Do I need anything special to export?
XML export is part of POHODA’s data communication. Availability may vary by edition, so check the manufacturer’s documentation.
